Has anyone found any software that will check the shutter count of a 6D?
I have EOSCount for Mac, which worked perfectly with my 7D. However, the 6D is not supported, which I confirmed with the EOSCount developer.

I did some more research and wanted to follow up on this post in case it helps someone else out. Since EOSCount for Mac does not support the 6D, I turned to gphoto2 given recommendations elsewhere in the forum. It worked well to read the shutter count.
Here is what I did:
1) Install Xcode from the Apple app store.
2) Then I installed the homebrew package manager at http://brew.sh/
3) Next, I installed gphoto2 using the following at the terminal:

4) Finally, after connecting my camera, I ran:

and
Got the instructions for that here: http://www.twam.info …s-7d-shuttercount-on-os-x

I don't know about you, but my 6D has a shutter counter built into one of the menu options...

The PRO version of FoCal micro adjustment software has a built-in shutter count function. A little on the pricey side at $100.

Unfortunately, that is not a persistent/continual shutter count. Only way to obtain actual shutter count for the body on a 6D or 7D is through one of the tools: EOSCount, gphoto2, FoCal, etc. Kind of a bummer really.

I get various and inconsistant results under identical circumstances. Extremely sensitive to lighting and camera conditions while testing. This software does alot of various sundry tests besides MA. These seem to function correctly. Hopefully version 2.0 will be more stable.

Dave

Select the one you want to play, and then click 'Play GZDoom.'By default, GZDoom should run in full screen using your desktop screen's resolution. Doom for mac. On Windows 10, a pop-up that says might appear; click 'More Info,' and then click 'Run Anyway' to bypass the warning. On Windows 7, to run the program; allow it to do so.If you have more than one WAD in the GZDoom folder when you run GZDoom, you'll see a list of WADs from which you can choose.

My apologies, learn something new everyday!
I just got my 6D and still going through all the different settings and menus. My T1i didn't nearly have as many options/settings!

It seems he is using gphoto2 to count the shutter. Why do you say it is not persistent?
